On Tuesday, June 29th, at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum in Zagreb, the Croatian Natural History Society signed a grant agreement for the “Rijeke znanja” project in the amount of 2.904.814,30 HRK, which was awarded under the call “Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations for the Promotion of STEM ”, announced by the European Social Fund.
The “Rijeke znanja” project brings a series of workshops and lectures, and Sunce Association starts with these activities in September 2021:
- participation in education for the implementation of education of children in the STEM field (physics and chemistry).
- tool kits and then children’s education – tool kits will be equipped with complex equipment related to soil, water or air pollution testing and/or equipment related to observation and navigation in GPS and binoculars.
- organization of 6 scientific lectures in SDŽ during the two years of the project.
The goal of the “Rijeke znanja” project is to build the capacity of civil society organizations to implement science promoters activities , especially in the field of physics, chemistry and environmental protection. The project will educate future promoters while partner organizations in the project will improve their management skills .
In addition to the project leader, the Croatian Natural Science Society from Zagreb , the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Medicine, Croatian Chemical Society, Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development Sunce, Docendo discimus Association, Science Factory, Klikeraj Association, Association for the Promotion of Natural Sciences, Mediterran Institute – Association for Cultural and Scientific Study of the Mediterranean, Croatian Association for Information, Communication and Electronic Technology – MIPRO, and Karlovac Mixed Industrial and Craft School are part of the project.
