As part of this service, Sunce is developing an Expert Study for the Expert basis for changing the boundaries of the Pakleni Islands Significant Landscape, with the extension of protection to the sea.

Spatially, the Study covers the Natura 2000 area of Pakleni Islands (HR3000095) and the land that is protected under the national category of significant landscape. The designation of marine protected area aims to protect and restore natural habitats, increase fish stocks, and preserve biodiversity, which is our greatest natural wealth.

In addition to the mentioned Study, as part of this service, Sunce will design and implement an educational program for outdoor school activities, with the participation of the fishing community. The program, focused on the Mediterranean endemic seagrass Posidonia oceanica and the benefits of no-fishing zones, is intended for upper-grade elementary school children.

These activities are implemented within the project ” Pakleni Islands marine protected area” by the Public Institution Sea and Karst, funded by the Mediterranean Protected Areas Network – MedPAN and the Peter Bertarelli Foundation.
