
The island of Lokrum is protected as a nature reserve and a special forest vegetation reserve in accordance with the Nature Protection Act (NN 80/2013, 15/2018, 14/2019, 127/19). The entire island, including the surrounding marine area that extends approximately 150 meters from the coast, is a part of the Natura 2000 ecological network area (HR4000017 Lokrum) with a total of eight target habitat types under the Regulation of the Ecological Network and the competences of public institutions for managing ecological network areas (NN 80/19, 119/23). The service of „Preparation of the Management Plan for the Special Forest Vegetation Reserve “Lokrum Island” and the Ecological Network Area HR400017 Lokrum” is carried out in accordance with the Nature Protection Act and national guidelines for the preparation of management plans.
The service includes a review and analysis of existing documents, their implementation to date, identification of new professional – scientific knowledge, legal and strategic documents that need to be integrated into the final version of the Management Plan; consultations with the Public Institution via telephone, e-mail, video link; organization of internal workshops and meetings with employees of the Public Institution; implementation of a workshop with stakeholders; structuring the planning part of the document; leading the writing of the Management Plan and revising the text chapters of the Plan; support in integrating stakeholder comments into the final draft of the Plan.
