During the past year, that is, during the duration of the project, eleven thousand brochures were printed in this way, and 85 percent of the citizens were covered.

Tamara Batinić from the City of Makarska presented the results of the project, the most significant of which are the organization of two public forums and the broadcasting of six radio shows, as well as the printing of informational leaflets that were distributed to citizens along with bills for the services of the Makarska utility company, while leaflets for tourists were sent to addresses of private renters together with utility bills. In addition, as part of the “Gather, arrange, conscientiously dispose” project, a competition for student works on the topic of waste separation was organized, and the Waste Alphabet application was also presented. She also stated that since the beginning of the implementation of educational and informational activities, the employees of the Makarska municipal utility have collected significantly more recyclable fractions of waste than in previous years.
