Sunce has started implementing the project Tourism 2030 – Sustainability is my vibe.
Project Goal:
Encouraging sustainable tourism through education, a cleanup action, the Sustainability Festival and a campaign. Raising awareness of ecological practices among the business sector, students, and the wider community, as well as enhancing the tourism offer in Split.
Project Activities:
- Organization and implementation of a cleanup action
- Education for students and market research on environmentally responsible business practices
- Education for rental property managers and tourism service providers
- Organization of the Sustainability Festival
- Advocacy and informational campaign
Expected Project Results:
- 1 cleanup action organized in the significant landscape area of Pantan, with 45 participants; 1 interactive exercise conducted using an internal questionnaire created by Sunce, with 10 participants from the business sector; 1 training session held for the business sector, attended by 10 participants; an environmental analysis created based on participants’ opinions; identified threats to biodiversity in the visited protected area and coastal region, with a specific number of threats and activities determined.
- 1 introductory lecture held for 10 participant students about the project, planned activities, and sustainable tourism; 2 surveys conducted among landlords and hospitality providers, with collected data and responses; 10 questionnaires completed in the tourism and hospitality sector; research results summarized, forming the basis for future education and initiatives.
- 10 rental property managers and tourism service providers participated in the training; 5 participants attended the training for tourism service providers; 3 training sessions were held for rental property managers; 5 participants attended each training session for rental property managers; 2 sustainable practices were implemented in the operations of the training participants, which will be showcased on the digital map.
- 200 participants attended the festival; 8 partners and products promoted through booths; 2 presentations and workshops held on the topic of sustainability; 10 media releases published regarding the Sustainability Festival; 5 new partnerships and collaborations established during the festival; 3 partners involved as potential exhibitors; 20 stakeholders gathered in the context of community sustainable development; 10 students participated in the organization and implementation of the Sustainability Festival.
- at least 2 meetings held with the Tourist Board of Split; 2 stakeholders from the tourism sector participated in the meetings; 2 sustainable practices implemented following the training; established collaboration: goals and preliminary activities established for rental property managers, broader spectrum of tourism sector employees and other interested parties; 1 video created and distributed via social media; improved visibility on Sunce’s social media platforms (150 new followers on Instagram, 150 likes on Facebook); 3 successful examples of sustainable practices showcased in the campaign; 10 media releases (TV and radio stations, internet portals, newspapers); campaign reached 30,000 people; 10 research results (market research in tourism and hospitality) utilized in the campaign; 3 members of the Dalmatia Green program interviewed as examples of best practices; 200 participants attended the festival; 2 presentations and workshops held on the topic of sustainability.

The project leader is the Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development Sunce.
Project partners include the Infozona association, the Croatian Association of Family Accommodation, while associated partners are the Tourist Board of the City of Split, the University of Split: Faculty of Economics, Makarun d.o.o., Brbljava Brokula d.o.o. and the Craft Technical School Split.
Project Duration: April 1, 2024 – June 27, 2025.

The total project budget is 41,031.09 EUR, with MINTS co-financing amounting to 26,995.00 EUR.
