STEM workshops and education: April 2025

Do your children dream of becoming scientists, researchers, or engineers? Or does the world of natural sciences seem distant, abstract, and “reserved” for the classroom board?

STEM workshops and educational activities within the project “Sailing into STEM Waters – A Map to 2030” are thoughtfully scheduled throughout the year. Below is the overview for April 2025.

What does the project “Sailing into STEM Waters – A map to 2030” offer?

Have you noticed the sea getting warmer and rivers more polluted? Faced with these challenges, we need knowledge, innovation, and practical solutions—now more than ever—solutions that often come from the natural sciences. But who will tackle these problems tomorrow if we don’t show children today how exciting, useful, and important science can be?

That’s why we launched the project “Sailing into STEM Waters – A Map to 2030.” Through educational workshops and public events, we aim to introduce children to natural sciences in a real and engaging way. We chose topics that matter to them: marine litter, eutrophication, coastal landfilling, ocean acidification… Sound serious? It is. But with the right approach, these topics become a playground for exploration, creativity, and discovering how small ideas can change the world.

However, to share knowledge with children in a meaningful and inspiring way, we adults need to learn too. That’s why the project also includes training for civil society organization representatives, study visits, collaboration with universities, and the exploration of new learning methods. Through these experiences, we’re building a network of people and knowledge that makes STEM more accessible, creative, and relevant to real-world challenges.

Events calendar: April 2025

In April 2025, no educational workshops or public events are scheduled. Still, that doesn’t mean we’re standing still. This month is dedicated to preparation, planning, and capacity-building so that we can offer a high-quality and diverse program in the weeks to come.

At the beginning of May, we will publish a new monthly calendar with locations and workshop dates. Follow us on our website and social media to find out where we’ll be sailing with STEM next!

The project is implemented with financial support from the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), under the “Effective Human Resources 2021–2027” Programme. It is carried out under the Call for Proposals “Strengthening the Capacity of Civil Society Organizations for Promoting STEM”, with the goal of improving the ability of CSOs to design and implement educational activities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
