Sunce Association in cooperation with Utility Company Čistoća d.o.o. from Split, organizes the Earth Day 2015 celebration. In the same way as in the past years, in the primary schools in the area of Split and the surrounding areas, a competition is organized for the best class project related to waste topics and the principles of responsible waste management to reduce, reuse and recycle.
The competition is being conducted under the name “Before and After – Students for Earth Day 2015”. It is divided into two categories for students from 1st to 4th grade and students from 5th to 8th grade, with the aim of raising the level of awareness about the problem of waste in the environment, and promoting the principles of responsible waste management.
Within the competition, in the period up to April 1, 2015, pupils under the guidance of the classmates/teachers should devise a class project through which they will promote responsible waste management and reduce, reuse and recycle principles and thereby change the environment to the better.
Each class project needs to be perpetuated with photographs how it looks after a pupil’s project, and how it looked like before.
After Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in attended schools, volunteers will be organized by the Sunce’s educator, where students will be able to present the project and submit project materials (photography, video, presentation, etc.) with information about the name of the class project, school, and class.
Representatives of the Sunce Association and Čistoća d.o.o. will make a decision about winning projects.
When evaluating projects, the following criteria will be considered:
the contribution of promotion and implementation of the principles reduce, reuse and recycle,
interestingness, innovation of project idea,
project presentation,
the connection with the Earth’s Day,
contribution to environmental protection in general.
All class projects will be presented at a ceremony at Čistoća d.o.o. – Split, and the date of the ceremony will be notified later.
The first-placed classes from both categories will be rewarded with a Green Trip organized by the Sunce Association according to their own choice.
The second place will be rewarded with a Green Trip in the area where the school is located, while all other schools and classes will be rewarded for participating with a gift.
