Seas At Risk is a European network of environmental and nature protection organizations that advocates for policies to protect seas and oceans. Its mission is to ensure the resilience of marine ecosystems to climate change and human-induced threats such as overfishing and plastic pollution. To prevent further biodiversity loss, it is crucial to restore marine ecosystems and establish effective marine protected areas.
The network brings together 33 organizations from 15 European countries and has been advocating for sea protection at the European and international level for more than 30 years. Headquartered in Brussels, Seas At Risk actively collaborates with the institutions of the European Union, the United Nations, and other institutions and expert bodies that shape marine governance policies.
