Mapping of coastal and marine bottom habitats of the Adriatic from the aspect of nature conservation is ambiguous and necessary, primarily in order to improve knowledge about the state of biodiversity as a baseline for effective monitoring and management.
Association Sunce, 27th of May till 8th of June 2021, conducted marine habitats mapping around southeast part of Molat island, Croatia . The area has been identified as a potential hotspot for angel shark (Squatina squatina), so conducted research is the baseline for establishing measures to preserve angel sharks and the Natura 2000 sites in the area, established for the preservation of posidonia meadows, reefs and sea caves.
