At the beginning of November, new volunteers from Skopje came to the Sunce Association within the framework of the European Volunteer Service (EVS) project. Milana Peshikj and Sasho Radulov are young creative minds who will volunteer for a year on the activities of Dalmatia Green for sustainable tourism development as well as on environmental activities and education of children on green excursions.
I wanted to change the way of life, get out of the “comfort zone,” to live a new life in a foreign country, to improve independence, communication skills, and budget management. This EVS project is an opportunity to express my creativity, love for nature and help to raise awareness of the local community in environmental issues, Milana says optimistically.
When I read the description of the EVS project Small steps for a sustainable society I fell in love at first sight! I love nature and therefore I am extremely supportive of nature protection and environmental organizations. Volunteering on the Dalmatia Green program makes me very happy and proud. I know that I have chosen the right way to volunteer to improve my knowledge and competencies. I have never even visited Croatia before, so this year is a great opportunity to travel through this beautiful country and meet new people, Sasho says.
EVS project supports international volunteering, strengthening non-formal competences and multicultural inclusion. We hope this year will be an unforgettable and full of positive experiences.
