The Association Sunce and BIOM are organizing a seminar “Public participation in protected areas” within the IPA Responsible Nature Project. The project is funded by the European Union and co-financed by the Office for Governmental organizations and supported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy. The seminar will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Hotel Panorama, Zagreb.
The seminar will present the results of the analysis of the current level of information and involvement of the public in the management of protected areas where they have the opportunity to participate in all public institutions that manage the protected areas in Croatia. Examples of good practice of involving the public in the delivery of strategic documents, as well as, in the work of public institutions in the management of protected areas, will be presented. We will also present experiences related to court practice in nature protection, and finally, we will jointly make recommendations to improve public participation.
60 participants of the seminar will present issues of participation from various angles to 11 lecturers from civil society organizations, public institutions, HAOP and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy.
