Sunce is coloring Dalmatian tourism offer into shades of green

Association Sunce in cooperation with partners Dalmacija EKO and Ecological Association Krka-Knin is launching a new project ”Greening Dalmatian tourism offer”. This project is primarily focused on private apartments and rural holiday homes. It represents important steps towards sustainable tourism in Dalmatia in order to contribute to the implementation of Green Tourism Action Plan. In addition, this strategic document emphasizes the importance of “greening” private accommodations in Croatia and improved target marketing to attract sustainable tourists.

”Association Sunce will present why greening tourism business pays off and how money saved = money earned. This project will bring together companies from green industry by providing several discounts and practical tips on water-saving technologies, energy-efficient lighting, solar panels, air conditioning saving techniques, etc. Each ‘’green accommodation’’ will get coupons with discounts for local eco products, as well as encouraging green messages on how to be a responsible tourist, information about eco tours, eco activities, possibilities for active tourism and authentic hidden spots in Dalmatia. In addition, guests will be encouraged to use bicycles and other green transport before arriving at the destination and during their stay”, says Nastja Logar, project manager in the Association Sunce.

Apart from website creation and development of communication material, this project will also include public presentations in Split-Dalmatia County as well as market research and public presentation in Šibenik-Knin County. In November two marketing workshops will be organized in Split, with main aim to improve differentiation, visibility and promotion of ”green accommodations” and eco local producers. In addition, ”green accommodations” will be encouraged to list themselves on the platform Ecobnb and attract new segments of sustainable and responsible tourists.
