ABC training management planning

ABC training took place from 18th to 20th October at the Hotel Konavle (Čilipi) with the aim of transferring know-how and planning skills to protected areas management.

Training itself is part of the project “Mapping, monitoring and management of the cross-border Natura 2000 network at sea – 4M”, which aims to foster cooperation in the cross-border area.

Through lectures and work in groups, the participants worked on the following topics:

nature protection system in Croatia and Montenegro,
protected areas in the cross-border region,
identification of values and threats,
goals proposals and management plan activities,
ways of involving stakeholders,
communication and facilitation.

 

During the three days active participation was attended by representatives of: Public Enterprise for Management of Montenegro, Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro, Ecological Society of Montenegro, the Municipality of Kotor, the City of Dubrovnik, the Department of Environmental Protection of Dubrovnik Neretva County, the Nature Park of Lastovo, Public Institutions Lokrum Reserves as well as representatives of project partners Green Home, Montenegrin Environmental Protection Agency, Public Institutions for the Management of Protected Areas of Nature of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and the Sunce Association.

The project is funded under the Croatia-Montenegro Cross-Border Cooperation Program (IPA II b 2012/2013). The total value of the project is EUR 333,253.39, and the EU finances the project with EUR 283,265.39. The contracting authority in the Republic of Croatia is the Agency for Regional Development of the Republic of Croatia.
