This Sunday, September 20, the 15th Split Bike Tour is taking place. Join us in Đardin from 5 PM, we’re preparing a fun Sunday afternoon for you. After the cyclists reach the finish line, we’ll have a party for everyone.
Although the official program of the Cycling Tour starts at 4 PM, when the group ride from Žnjan begins, you can also take part in the Split Bike Tour without a bicycle. Read on for more details.
Registration
We’ll be waiting for you at the starting point, at Žnjan near Beach Bar Palma, from 3 PM onwards. Before the group ride through Split begins, we’ll gather all cyclists for registration. This year, we are temporarily closing roads to traffic, so it is equally important to be near the starting point so you can hear all the instructions.
This will also be an opportunity for anyone who didn’t manage to register online to do so in person at Sunce’s stand! You still have time to register via the LINK until September 19 at 1 PM.
Anyone who does not register online must go to the “Registration” stand, while those who have registered online will go to the “Online Registration” stand.
At the stand, you will also receive one free raffle ticket for the raffle that will take place at the finish line. Anyone who wishes can get another ticket in Đardin in exchange for a voluntary donation, with all donations going to the city of Omiš to support recovery from the fires.
If you don’t have your own bicycle, that’s no problem! Split Parking has you covered with its Nextbike public bicycle-sharing system. All you need to do is download the Nextbike app to your device, register and activate your account by paying €10, and then register your participation at Sunce’s stand. If you are already a registered user of the public bicycle system, you do not need to register again, simply register your participation at the organiser’s stand.
The cost of renting Nextbike bicycles for participation in the Bike Tour between 4 PM and 9 PM will be refunded to users who registered their participation at Sunce’s stand. It is only important that you leave your personal information at Sunce’s information stand together with the bicycle number.
Let’s ride together through the city
Our group ride starts at exactly 4 PM. Be sure to join us earlier, around 3 PM, so you have time to register. This year we have a new route, so make sure to familiarise yourself with it before the ride! The route is approximately 15 km long and ends in Đardin. This year, we are temporarily closing roads to traffic so that we can ride together more safely through the city. Most importantly, listen carefully to the instructions and do not overtake the police officers.
We’ll start from Žnjan (Palma café), then continue along Šetalište Ivana Pavla II, Šetalište Kalafata, through Spinčićeva Street and Put Firula. We’ll ride along Šetalište Petra Preradovića, Prilaz braće Kaliterna, Trg Mihovila Pavlinovića, Jadranska Street and Katalinićev prilaz. We’ll cycle together along Obala kneza Domagoja and Obala Lazareta, followed by Obala Hrvatskog narodnog preporoda, Trumbićeva obala, Obala kneza Branimira and Šetalište Ivana Meštrovića.
We’ll continue along Šetalište Marina Tartaglie, Ulica Antuna Gustava Matoša, Ulica Jerolima Kavanjina, Ulica Ante Starčevića, Ulica Ivana Gundulića, Ulica Domovinskog rata, Livanjska Street and Sinjska Street. We’ll finish by riding through Zagrebačka Street, Hrvojeva Street and Ulica kralja Tomislava, arriving at the finish line in Đardin.
Together, we’ll ride through Split and show everyone that alternative forms of transport can absolutely be used in our city, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Refreshments at the finish line
We expect the cyclists to return to Đardin between 5 and 5:30 PM. Cyclists will be welcomed at the finish line with free refreshments (fruit, healthy snacks and drinks). Keep in mind that we do not use single-use plastic, so you will be able to use our reusable cups.
Following a deposit system, you will pay €2 for the cup, which we will return to you when you return the cup to us. Of course, if you wish, you can keep the cup as a souvenir, in which case the money will not be refunded.
BMX stunts will entertain us again this year
Skilled cyclists from the Trotul Bike Club will once again perform exciting stunts in Đardin. This BMX show might even leave some of you breathless.
The BMX show will take place in two parts: the first from 5:30 to 5:45 PM, and the second from 6:15 to 6:45 PM.
But Trotul is not here only for the spectacular tricks. Members of the cycling club, led by head coach Andrija Kuvačić, will hold a BMX workshop for everyone interested. The workshop will take place from 5:45 to 6:15 PM.
Can you hit the bullseye?
Instead of a horse, you have a bicycle, and instead of a lance, you aim for the bullseye. You can test your jousting skills in Đardin from 5:45 to 6:15 PM, when our cycling jousting competition will take place alongside the BMX workshop.
Depending on how many points you score, some interesting prizes are waiting for you.
Besides trying your hand at the jousting competition and BMX workshop, you can also take part in our STEM workshops.
One of Sunce’s stands will be dedicated to our youngest visitors. At the STEM workshop, we will explore water, the sea and their living world through experiments and play, as well as the threats they face. How does pollution enter our water? What happens when pollutants enter aquatic ecosystems? How do human activities change our seas and rivers? And most importantly, can we find solutions?
What kind of celebration would it be without a raffle? A raffle is an essential part of every public event in our area, and the 14th Split Cycling Event is no exception. The raffle draw will take place from 6:45 to 7 PM.
This year, everyone who is interested can take part in our raffle! Cyclists will receive a free raffle ticket at the start, while everyone else can get a ticket at Sunce’s stand with a €2 donation.
There will be a variety of prizes, so bring your friends and make sure you take home at least one prize!

Green Phone – report environmental problems to us
Throughout the entire programme, there will also be a stand for our Green Phone, a free tool for all citizens who want to report an environmental or nature protection issue but do not know whom to contact.
Our staff will give you the brochure “Lend Your Voice to the Environment!” and useful information on how to report an environmental problem, as well as explain what happens after a report is submitted. If you already know about a specific problem, you will be able to report it on the spot.
