This Sunday, September 22nd, in celebration of World Car-Free Day and European Mobility Week, the 13th Split Biking Tour will take place: an event dedicated to promoting sustainable urban mobility and healthy lifestyle habits. If you haven’t registered yet, we believe our exciting program and prizes will motivate you to do so today! Read on to see what we’ve prepared for you.
Program of the 13th Split Biking Tour
Although the official program starts at 4:00 PM with a group ride through the city, you can also participate in the Split Biking Tour spontaneously, without registering for the ride. In that case, join us for the celebration in Đardin!
- 3:30 PM – registration of participants
Gather at the starting point in front of St. Francis Church, where those who haven’t registered online can still sign up at Sunce’s booth. Everyone registering this way must check in at the “Registration” booth, while those who have registered online should head to the “Online Registration” booth. At the booth, you will also receive your ticket for the raffle that will take place at the finish line in Đardin. While waiting for the event to start, don’t forget to warm up and check the condition of your bike!
- 4:00 PM – start of the Split Biking Tour
We begin the group ride through the streets of Split. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of age or fitness level. You’ll ride along our route from St. Francis Church, around Marjan Hill, to Đardin.
- 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM – arrival at the finish line and refreshments
After an easy ride, we’ll arrive in Đardin, where free refreshments (fruit, healthy snacks, and drinks) will be waiting. As we avoid using single-use plastic, note that drinks will be served in Sunce’s reusable plastic cups, which require a deposit of 2 euros. This deposit will be refunded when the cup is returned. Of course, if you’d like to keep the cup as a souvenir, you can do so, but in that case, the deposit is non-refundable.
- 5:30 PM – 5:45 PM – Trotul BMX show (part 1)
Professional BMX riders will perform exciting tricks that will leave you breathless.
- 5:45 PM – 6:15 PM – cycling Alka and BMX workshops for children
Participate in the traditional cycling version of the Alka competition and test your skills as an Alkar. The best participants will win our Alka prizes, which you can learn more about below. Simultaneously, BMX workshops for kids will take place, where the youngest can learn basic tricks and techniques. If you haven’t already, sign up for the BMX workshop here.
- 6:15 PM – 6:30 PM – Trotul BMX show (part 2)
Another round of adrenaline-filled BMX tricks.
- 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM – raffle and quiz winner announcements
The evening will conclude with the awarding of fantastic prizes – both from the raffle and for the quiz winners. This year, the quiz will be available via QR codes, placed at several locations in Đardin. Scan the code, answer the questions, and win great prizes!
What prizes await you?
Thanks to our sponzors, a variety of prizes are waiting for participants. All Alka and raffle participants are automatically entered into the prize draw, while for the quiz, you’ll need to scan the QR code and answer the questions online.
Raffle prizes
At this year’s Split Biking Tour, we have prepared a range of prizes for the raffle. Terno prize winners can expect annual Nextbike bike subscriptions, movie tickets (Ekran), bio&bio healthy food packages, tickets to the Museum of Illusions, CitySpa Split massages, or a meal for two at Makarun restaurant. Lucky Cinkvina winners will enjoy Red adventures kayak tours for two, monthly gym memberships at Fitness Center Joker, and tickets for two to Krka National Park. And one extra lucky person who wins the raffle will receive a brand-new bike, courtesy of Extreme shop!
Cycling Alka prizes
While the Sinj’s Alka is “run”, ours is ridden – on a bicycle. To keep participants in the spirit of this traditional game, the Alka ring is brought from Sinj specifically for this event. Our top three contestants, who score the most points, will be awarded special prizes. Bronze medalists will receive a 50 EUR gift voucher for Pandora Greenbox restaurant and a bio&bio healthy food package. The silver winner will enjoy a kayak tour for two (Red Adventures) and two cinema tickets (Ekran). The Alka champion will win a zip line ride for two in Omiš and a bio&bio food package.
Online quiz prizes
Don’t forget to find the QR codes in Đardin to increase your chances of winning prizes by testing your knowledge. The top five participants will be rewarded with bio&bio food packages, an annual subscription to Nextbike, didactic games from the Museum of Illusions, and promotional prizes from Sunce.
