Sunce Association Communication and Advocacy Department covers key areas in communication and advocacy. Its cross-functional role allows it to support all departments within the Association, ensuring that all topics related to Sunce’s activities are adequately represented and communicated.
Communication
Within the Department, special attention is given to the development and implementation of Sunce’s multi-year communication strategies, ensuring transparent, accurate, and timely information to the public, members, and partners. Among other things, the Department coordinates activities such as publishing on Sunce’s website, running campaigns, and managing social media and media presence.
By determining the preferred channels, tools, and discourse for targeted groups and increasing audience sharing and engagement, the goal is to enhance the persuasiveness and reach of messages, including small donations, to build stronger and more active communities around Sunce.
Advocacy
Advocacy is an active component of the Department’s work aimed at implementing Sunce’s Strategic Plans. The Department uses various tools and methods, including public campaigns, lobbying, creating analytical and expert documents, and collaborating with the media and relevant institutions to influence decision-making related to nature protection, the environment, and sustainable development.
Only by strengthening institutional and public advocacy activities, with a systematic approach and education, can Sunce achieve its vision of Croatia as a “land of preserved natural values, sea, and coast.”
Department Projects
One of the key activities of the Department is the coordination of the Green Phone, a communication tool for citizens that allows reporting of environmental problems and cases. The received cases are resolved in cooperation with the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Department and the Nature Protection Department, ensuring an interdisciplinary approach to solving environmental issues.
Understanding the importance of active citizen participation, the Department works on educating citizens through communication and advocacy, encouraging them to participate in environmental protection. This not only contributes to nature conservation and improves the quality of life but also strengthens democratic processes and social responsibility.
