Monitoring the species of Posidonia oceanica in Montenegro

In the period from 22.05. – 29.05.2017. in the area of Biogovo (Montenegro), the field of inventory of marine habitats and the establishment and monitoring of Posidonia oceanica were performed. Establishment of Posidonia monitoring was done with the help of dr.sc. Ivan Guala (International Marine Center Loc. Sa Mardini, Torregrande, Oristano, Italy).

On the diving field, a total of 10 dives for 8 days were done within the project “Mapping, monitoring and management of the cross-border Natura 2000 network at sea – 4M”.

During the course and following the events that “hit us” while we dived last summer in Montenegro, action Stop the poaching was launched. Montenegrin citizens – enthusiasts, mostly sport fishermen from the seaside but also from the interior, want to draw the attention of the public and the competent institutions to the great environmental consequences of not establishing control of the poaching, which is mostly related to the most dangerous aspect of the “hunt in the blur” explosives, or dynamite.

We encourage you to support the action at: https://www.facebook.com/krivolovcg/.
