Be a cyclist!
The record-high temperatures of the last decade have been linked to increased greenhouse gas emissions from human activities, culminating in Europe’s hottest year. Traffic jams not only extend travel time and consume fuel, but contribute to emissions of harmful substances, and the deep consequences of the crisis, including biodiversity loss and environmental pollution, are becoming increasingly apparent. Therefore, encouraging alternative modes of transport such as cycling and public transport plays a key role in tackling the climate crisis.
– It is necessary to increase the awareness of citizens and decision-makers about the climate crisis and the benefits of using bicycles and to encourage the development of cycling infrastructure. – concluded Medunić-Orlić.
Cycling is fun and doesn’t pollute the air, and if we all think a little bit about how we travel, we can help make our planet a more comfortable and healthier place to live. Such and similar events will be held as part of the European Mobility Week from 16 to 22 September across Europe, and we invite everyone on Sunday, September 17 to the 12th, on the Split Biking Tour on the occasion of celebrating European Mobility Week.
Your support is key to promoting sustainable mobility!
