At the Assembly of the Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development Sunce, held on April 1, 2020, Zrinka Jakl and Samanta Šećer were elected to the Governing Board as members from the employees whereas Marko Pećarević, Andrijana Parić, and Ivana Carev were elected to the Association’s Governing Board as external members.
Twenty-three members of Association Sunce Split were present at the Assembly. Out of these, 19 members had active status with voting rights. At the beginning, the Executive Director of Association Sunce, Gabrijela Medunić-Orlić, briefly presented the Governing Board’s work and focus areas from the previous mandate.
The Executive Director also explained the procedure for electing members to the Governing Board from the employees. They are elected by the employees internally; and due to the growing number of employees in the Association, a secret ballot was implemented for the first time. The election process lasted from March 3 unti March 12, 2020. After the candidacy of the three candidates was announced and their motivation letters were presented to the employees, the secret vote took place. Zrinka Jakl and Samanta Šećer were elected to the Governing Board as members from the employees. The active members at the Assembly unanimously confirmed the election of these two candidates.
The Executive Director then reported about the conducted public call for new external members of the Governing Board as well as the criteria stated in the call. The call for external members was conducted between March 9 and March 29, 2020. Four candidates (Andrijana Parić, Marko Pećarević, Vinko Živaljić, and Ivana Carev) responded to the call through which three members were to be elected. At the Assembly, Marko Pećarević, Andrijana Parić, and Ivana Carev were recommended for external members of the Governing Board. Namely, Marko Pećarević and Andrijana Parić will continue being members of the Governing Board given they became familiarised with the work of the Association and the Board itself throughout the previous mandate, while Ivana Carev stood out thanks to her motivational letter and CV, thereby gaining an advantage over Vinko Živaljić according to the criteria stated in the public call.
The active members at the Assembly then voted on the Governing Board’s proposed candidates for external members of the Board for the period of 2020–2024. The decision was made unanimously and Marko Pećarević, Andrijana Parić, and Ivana Carev were confirmed as external members of the Governing Board.
The election Assembly was held on April 1, 2020 at 1pm using the online conferencing tool Zoom instead of in the Association’s offices on Obala hrvatskog narodnog preporoda 7/III, 21000 Split. The reason behind using a Cloud Meeting for the Assembly is the inability to work from the office due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
