{"id":5576,"date":"2018-02-15T16:36:36","date_gmt":"2018-02-15T15:36:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sunce.itlaganini.org\/en\/?p=5576"},"modified":"2023-01-25T00:25:33","modified_gmt":"2023-01-24T23:25:33","slug":"completion-of-the-project-responsible-for-nature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/en\/news\/completion-of-the-project-responsible-for-nature\/","title":{"rendered":"Completion of the project &#8220;Responsible for Nature"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In December 2017, the implementation of the two-year project <strong>&#8220;Responsible for nature&#8221;<\/strong> was successfully completed in cooperation with project partners <strong>Association BIOM<\/strong>, <strong>Dru\u0161tvo Marjan<\/strong>, <strong>University of Split &#8211; Faculty of Economics<\/strong>; and <strong>Faculty of Law<\/strong> who acted as project associate.<\/p>\n<p>By implementing numerous project activities, project partners worked on achieving the overall project goal, i.e. to increase the level of transparency and efficiency in the management of natural resources in Croatia.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the implemented activities and project results are also visible in the publications made within the project. Below we provide links from which these publications can be downloaded directly in pdf format:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/INFORMING-AND-INVOLVING-PUBLIC_ENG.pdf\"><strong>Informing and involving the public in the management of protected areas in Croatia \u2013 state of the game and recommendations for the future;<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\">Successful protection of nature can only be achieved through active engagement of all members of society and especially the local community living in the protected area.<\/span><span id=\"t-served-community-button\" class=\"trans-verified-button goog-toolbar-button\" role=\"button\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Public participation in the environmental procedures at the county level &#8211; Legislation on public participation on county level &#8211; Environmental Impact Assessment Procedures \/ Assessment of Acceptability for Ecological Network &#8211; Theory and Practice (Available only in the Croatian language)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\">Only by looking and observing public\u00a0opinion and allowing and providing feedback, it is possible to build public confidence in the implementation of these procedures and raise the quality of public participation in environmental proceedings.<\/span><span id=\"t-served-community-button\" class=\"trans-verified-button goog-toolbar-button\" role=\"button\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Assessment_forest-ecosystem-services.pdf\"><strong>Assessment of forest ecosystem services and generally beneficial forest functions in Park Forest Marjan in Split<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\">Forest Park Marjan represents the most valuable part of nature in the city of Split and its area should not be reduced due to the services it provides for all residents of Split and other visitors.
