MORE &#8211; PLASTIC CUPS IN KINDERGARTENS!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"Odgovorno postupanje s otpadom temelji se na redu prvenstva u gospodarenju otpadom, pri \u010demu je prvi korak smanjenje stvaranje otpada.\">Responsive waste management is based on the priority of waste management, with the first step rof educing waste. <\/span><span title=\"Me\u0111utim, u na\u0161em dru\u0161tvu se o ovom koraku jo\u0161 uvijek nedovoljno promi\u0161lja, kako na razini pojedinaca, tako i na razini institucija, gradova i op\u0107ina. \">However, in our society, this step is still insufficiently contemplated both at the level of individuals and at the level of institutions, cities and municipalities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Ipak, dana\u0161nji \u010dlanak posve\u0107en je upravo pri\u010di o uspjehu u provedbi ovog koraka! \">However, today&#8217;s <strong>article is dedicated to the story of success in the implementation of this step!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Naime, jo\u0161 2012. godine, \u010dlanovi Udruge Sunce primijetili su kako djeca u pojedinim gradskim vrti\u0107ima koriste jednokratne plasti\u010dne \u010da\u0161e za svakodnevno ispijanje vode, a od roditelja se tra\u017ei da te iste \u010da\u0161e donose u vrti\u0107.\">Namely, in 2012, members of the Sunce Association have noticed that children in certain city kindergartens use disposable plastic cups for daily drinking water, and parents are asked to bring these same cups to the kindergartens themselfs. <\/span><span title=\"Zabrinuti za koli\u010dinu otpada koja se svakodnevno stvara, ali i odgoj budu\u0107ih nara\u0161taja kojima se na ovaj na\u010din ve\u0107 od malih nogu usa\u0111uje potro\u0161a\u010dki mentalitet, krenuli smo u analizu trenutnog stanja.\">Concerned about the amount of waste that is generated on a daily basis, but also the upbringing of future generations, which in this way are already used to the consumer mentality, we started analyzing the current situation. <\/span><span title=\"Cilj nam je bio utvrditi je li ova negativna praksa prisutna u svim vrti\u0107ima ili se radi samo o sporadi\u010dnim primjerima.\">Our goal was to determine if this negative practice is present in all kindergartens or is only a sporadic examples. <\/span><span title=\"Uz pomo\u0107 u\u010denika Prirodoslovno tehni\u010dke \u0161kole koji su bili uklju\u010deni u program dru\u0161tveno korisnog u\u010denja, proveli smo upitnik u pred\u0161kolskim ustanovama kako bi ustanovili koja je trenutna praksa u Splitu i razloge ovakvog postupanja, koli\u010dinu utro\u0161enih plasti\u010dnih \u010dasa, postupanja s upotrjebljenim \u010da\u0161ama i sl. \">With the help of the students&nbsp;from the Natural Science School, who were involved in the program of socially useful learning within our organization, we conducted a questionnaire in pre-school institutions to find out what is the&nbsp;current practice Split and the reasons for such treatment, the amount of plastic time spent, the treatments with the used glasses and similar.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"Rezultati istra\u017eivanja pokazali su se pora\u017eavaju\u0107ima.\">The results of the research have proved to be devastating. <\/span><span title=\"Uzorak na kojem smo proveli istra\u017eivanje sastojao se od 62 vrti\u0107a na podru\u010dju grada Splita, \u0161to je tada iznosilo 67% od ukupnog broja vrti\u0107a na podru\u010dju grada.\">The research sample consisted of 62 kindergartens in the Split area, which was 67% of the total number of kindergartens in the city. <\/span><span title=\"\u010cak 84 % anketiranih vrti\u0107a koristilo je svakodnevno jednokratne plasti\u010dne \u010da\u0161e, i to mahom gradski vrti\u0107i, dok je samo 6 % (4 anketirana vrti\u0107a, od \u010dega tri privatna vrti\u0107a) koristilo \u201eklasi\u010dnu metodu\u201c gdje svako dijete ima svoju \u010da\u0161u.\">Even 84% of surveyed kindergartens used day-to-day plastic cups, most of which were public&nbsp;kindergartens, while only 6% (4 surveyed kindergartens, of which three private kindergartens) used the &#8220;classic method&#8221; &#8211; where every child had their own glass. <\/span><span title=\"Ostalih 10 % koristilo je jednokratne plasti\u010dne \u010da\u0161e ponekad (za ro\u0111endane). \">The other 10% used one-time plastic cups sometimes (for birthdays).<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"Koriste\u0107i procjenu odgajatelja o dnevnoj potro\u0161nji \u010da\u0161a po jednom djetetu izra\u010dunali smo da se broj \u010da\u0161a koji se dnevno pretvara u otpad, samo u vrti\u0107ima na podru\u010dju Splita, kre\u0107e izme\u0111u 8000 i 9000.\">Using estimates of day-to-day consumption of cups per child, we calculated that the number of cups spent daily, only in kindergartens in the Split area, ranges <strong>between 8,000 and 9,000 cups&nbsp;per day.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"Koriste\u0107i procjenu odgajatelja o dnevnoj potro\u0161nji \u010da\u0161a po jednom djetetu izra\u010dunali smo da se broj \u010da\u0161a koji se dnevno pretvara u otpad, samo u vrti\u0107ima na podru\u010dju Splita, kre\u0107e izme\u0111u 8000 i 9000.\"><strong><span title=\"Na godi\u0161njoj razini na plasti\u010dnim \u010da\u0161ama u vrti\u0107ima Splita roditelji djece tro\u0161ili su 240.000,00 kn. \">At annual level of plastic cups in kindergartens in Split, the parents of children spent 240,000.00 kn.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"S obzirom na pora\u017eavaju\u0107e rezultate ovog istra\u017eivanja, odmah smo zapo\u010deli proces zagovaranja za ukidanje ove negativne prakse.\">Given the devastating results of this research, we immediately started the process of advocating for the abolition of this negative practice. <\/span><span title=\"Pisali smo ravnateljima vrti\u0107a, razgovarali sa zdravstvenim djelatnicima jer nas je poku\u0161ao uvjeriti da je razlog ovom osiguranje higijenskih uvjeta, podigli smo ovu temu pri Savjetodavnom vije\u0107u za okoli\u0161 grada Splita, pisali smo nadle\u017enom upravnom odjelu sa zahtjevom da se praksa promijeni, slanje dopise Ministarstvu znanosti\">We wrote to the principals of kindergartens, talked to health workers because they&#8217;ve tried to convince us that the reason for this is providing proper hygiene conditions, we raised this issue at the Environmental Council of the City of Split, wrote to the competent administrative department requesting the practice to change, sending the letter to the Ministry of Science <\/span><span title=\", obrazovanja i sporta te Ministarstva za\u0161tite okoli\u0161a i prirode.\">, Education and Sports and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Nature. <\/span><span title=\", Obratili smo se i Ministarstvu zdravlja koje smo potvrdili da nema razloga za uporabu jednokratnih plasti\u010dnih \u010da\u0161a i da ne postoje pravilnici koji propisuju. \">We also addressed the Ministry of Health where&nbsp;they have confirmed that there is no reason to use one-time plastic cups and that there are no rules that prescribe that practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Organizirali smo predavanja za odgajateljice, tiskali i distribuiramo plakate o plasti\u010dnim \u010da\u0161ama i njihovim ugro\u017eenosti, promoviramo primjere dobre prakse i vrti\u0107e koje ne rade.\">We have organized lectures for educators, we print and distribute placards about plastic glasses and their threats, promote examples of good practices and kindergartens that are not working. <\/span><span title=\"Tako\u0111er smo ispitali kakva je praksa u zapadnim zemljama, pa su se posramili kad su se \u010dudom \u010dudili da to radi u Hrvatskoj i Splitu.\">We also examined what kind of practice was in Western countries, so they were startled when they were surprised to do that in Croatia and Split. <\/span><span title=\"Na\u0161i zaposlenici i \u010dlanovi opirali su sustavu i nisu \u017eeljeli nositi \u010da\u0161e u vrti\u0107u, donose\u0107i za svoje djece vi\u0161ekratne \u010da\u0161e i tako su izlo\u017eili djecu iskustvu &quot;malih crnih ov\u010dica&quot;.\">Our employees and members resisted the system and did not want to wear glasses in the kindergarten, bringing their kids back to the cups and so exposed the kids to the experience of &#8220;little black sheep&#8221;. <\/span><span title=\"Radovali smo se svakom novom vrti\u0107u koji je odlu\u010dio prekinuti ovaj negativni praksu i smo se djeci i odgajatelje nagra\u0111ivali besplatnim Zelenim izletima.\">We were delighted with every new kindergarten who decided to stop this negative practice and we rewarded children and educators with free Green Trips.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"Me\u0111utim, promjena su tekle vrlo sporo, rijetki su bili oni koji su se odlu\u010divali primijeniti praksu koju je podr\u017eavala uprava vrti\u0107a.\">However, changes were very slow, few who decided to apply the practice were&nbsp;supported by the kindergarten administration. <\/span><span title=\"Svaka nova \u0161kolska godina zna\u010dila je i novu anketu.\">Each new school year meant a new poll. <\/span><span title=\"Nadali smo da \u0107e roditelji prepoznati ovu \u0161tetnu praksu pa su tako anketirani i roditelji, potom i vrti\u0107i Ka\u0161tela i Solina u kojima je anketa pokazala da postoji ista negativna praksa.\">We were hoping that the parents would recognize this harmful practice, so the parents and then the Kastela and Solina kindergartens were interviewed, where the survey showed that there the same negative practice. <\/span><span title=\"Stoga smo opet zagovarali, put gradona\u010delnika i nadle\u017enih upravnih odjela ovih gradova.\">That is why we again advocated to&nbsp;the mayor and the competent administrative departments of these cities. <\/span><span title=\"Ovaj problem isticali smo i kada smo sudjelovali u radu radne grupe za izradu Strategije za uvr\u0161tavanje Splita kao Grada prijatelja djece\u2026 I tako je malo pomalo sve vi\u0161e bilo onih koji su znali i uvi\u0111ali koliko se lako ovo mo\u017ee promijeniti, kako lako \u201eprincip smanji\u201c\">This problem was also highlighted when we participated in the work of the Working Group for the Development of the Strategy for the inclusion of Split as the City of Friends of Children&#8230; And so a little bit more of those who knew and realized how easily this can change, how easy &#8220;principle to reduce&#8221; <\/span><span title=\"mo\u017eemo primijeniti.\">we can be&nbsp;applied. upozoravaju\u0107i na pretrpanost odlagali\u0161ta Karepovac te tra\u017eimo odgovor na pitanje jesu li kona\u010dno nalo\u017eili gradskim vrti\u0107ima da se s ovim prestane.\">Meanwhile, we are writing to the city again warning of the overcrowding of the Karepovac landfill and asking the question whether they have finally ordered city nurseries to stop this. <\/span><span title=\"Ubrzo dobivamo POTVRDAN odgovor. \">Soon we get a READY answer.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"Da se na ovaj korak mislilo prije, ne samo u vrti\u0107ima, nego iu ostalim institucijama, da smo bili vi\u0161e odgovorni, da se odvojilo onih 30% papira, 30% biootpada i isti kompostiralo, da se odvojila plastika i metal, danas ne bi morali\">To think about this step, not only in kindergartens, but also in other institutions, that we were more responsible, separating those 30% of paper, 30% bio-waste and composting it, separating plastics and metal, today would not have to <\/span><span title=\"svjedo\u010diti premje\u0161tanju tona i tona otpada, udisati emisije \u0161tetnih plinova i osje\u0107ati smrad na podru\u010dju za onaj mali dio koji se ne mo\u017ee odvojiti i reciklirati. \">At Karepovec, there would be more space for that little part that can not be separated and recycled.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><strong><span title=\"Sada nam jedino ostaje iz ovih gre\u0161aka u\u010diti.\">Now, we are only left to learn from these mistakes. <\/span><span title=\"I uspjehe
