After the winter break, the Sunce Association\u2019s Swap Fair<\/a><\/strong> is returning to its familiar Split address. In 2026, Club Zona<\/strong> (Jerina St. 1, Split) will once again open its doors to the Sunce team and to everyone who wants not only to save money, but also to do something good for the environment and the city of Split. Alongside the classic item swap, visitors to the February 3, 2026 <\/strong>Swap Fair can look forward to several new additions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Refresh your wardrobe, home, or office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As always, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM <\/strong>visitors can bring up to five well-preserved items to Zona (books, clothes, jewelry, electronics, toys, household goods, small appliances) and exchange them at the Fair for something that will refresh their wardrobe, home, or workspace. Anything in good condition and ready for a new owner is welcome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For each item brought in, participants receive a Sunce voucher, which can be used immediately, donated, or saved for the next Swap Fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 The aim of the Fair is to extend the lifespan of the things we already own, reduce waste generation, and encourage sustainable habits. At the same time, each Fair is an opportunity to connect with people who share a similar outlook on the world: practical, sustainable, and creative, \u2013 says Mihaela Mladar, Sunce\u2019s Membership Coordinator<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This month, the Fair is being held as part of the international network \u201cDon\u2019t waste, just replace!\u201d, in cooperation with the Romanian association DIVIT, making this local initiative part of a broader European story about responsible resource use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social gathering at the ‘Adriatic Treasures’ exhibition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the Fair, visitors will also have the opportunity to see the photography exhibition<\/a> \u201cAdriatic Treasures,\u201d which was created as part of the photo competition of the ASPEH project \u2013 Adriatic SPEcies and Habitats of coastal areas<\/strong><\/a>. The exhibition features 16 works by 11 authors<\/strong>, including award-winning photographers Marko Longin, Valentina Buni\u0107, and Damir Zurub<\/strong>. The photographs capture not only the aesthetic beauty of the Adriatic Sea, but also the vulnerability of its habitats and species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Through the ASPEH project, we aim to reduce pressure on ecosystems and develop joint strategies to protect key species and habitats. Photography is a powerful tool for connecting people with nature and raising environmental awareness. We hope this exhibition will remind visitors of the importance of preserving marine biodiversity, \u2013 explains Vida Zrn\u010di\u0107, Project Manager at Sunce<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the Fair, starting at 5:30 PM, Sunce will host light refreshments and a meet-and-greet with the photographers, Sunce members, and Adriatic enthusiasts. This gathering will be an opportunity to discover the stories behind the photographs and to share experiences from behind the lens \u2013 both from professional and amateur perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEM experiments: dive into the world of science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the Swap Fair, visitors will also have the chance to dive deeper into understanding the threats facing our seas and freshwater ecosystems, and to learn why preserving these precious resources matters. To mark the occasion, Sunce educators will lead interactive STEM activities <\/strong>focused on marine and water protection, developed as part of the project Sailing into STEM \u2013 A Map for 2030<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 From observing the effects of oil spills to exploring the impact of wastewater, everyone will be able to step into the role of a scientist and discover firsthand how STEM knowledge can help protect our environment, \u2013 announces Vana Marta Vukman, Assistant at Sunce\u2019s Education and Information Department<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
