That\u2019s why cooperation among all participants is essential to protect the environment as much as possible! This summer, Dugi Otok proved that public events can indeed be much more sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The biggest event on Dugi Otok, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DNSYqi7MaWb\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Saljske u\u017eance<\/a>, featured reusable cups this summer. The <strong>Sali Tourist Board <\/strong>reported that visitors were delighted with this eco-friendly initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/saljske_uzance_sunce.jpg\" alt=\"saljske-uzance\" class=\"wp-image-34361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/saljske_uzance_sunce.jpg 600w, https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/saljske_uzance_sunce-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/saljske_uzance_sunce-500x667.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Although the reactions have been mostly positive, it is important to mention the challenges of implementing this eco-friendly solution.<br>&#8211; The concessionaires told us that a special stand for collecting and washing the cups would be needed, as well as a dishwasher. Both the competitors and we, as organizers, were impressed by the idea of reusable cups, &#8211; said <strong>Ana Petri\u0107<\/strong>, the race director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sakarun is slowly embracing sustainable solutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic, Sakarun, is part of the Natura 2000 ecological network and it is as WASTEREDUCE pilot area. There is no hot water at Sakarun. We also noticed that guests were throwing even these reusable cups into the trash,- said <strong>Darko Bukarica<\/strong> from Amarcord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; We already have a practice of using reusable cups on the boat, so we did not really use these new ones, &#8211; said <strong>Mate Stru\u010di\u0107<\/strong> from the boat <em>Trn<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Boat companies in Tela\u0161\u0107ica are sailing a sustainable course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Boat operators who take their guests on trips to Tela\u0161\u0107ica Nature Park started using new reusable cups on their boats this summer. This was also discussed at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPoWJ4vjGNE\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project partners\u2019 meeting<\/a> held in Split on October 8 and 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; The analysis of implementing reusable solutions, which will take place in the coming weeks, will show us what works best in practice, &#8211; announced <strong>Zanki<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stakeholders from Dugi Otok can look forward to a <strong>roundtable<\/strong> on this topic in Zadar in November.
