The discussion addressed the current legislative framework, challenges in its implementation in the field, and specific solutions that could facilitate proper waste disposal and ensure a more efficient system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the panelists, <strong>Valentina Andri\u0107<\/strong> <strong>from the Ministry of agriculture<\/strong>, provided insight into the legal obligations of fishermen and emphasized the importance of informing them about their rights and responsibilities, as well as the role of institutions in clearer and more accessible communication with users in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fisherman<strong> Bo\u017eidar Blaslov<\/strong> pointed out practical challenges in fishing ports\u2014from lack of information to inconsistent infrastructure\u2014and offered suggestions to make the system simpler and more adapted to the daily lives of fishermen.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/fishnowaste_tribunj-5-1024x640.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/fishnowaste_tribunj-5-1024x640.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/fishnowaste_tribunj-5-480x300.jpg 480w, https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/fishnowaste_tribunj-5-768x480.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/fishnowaste_tribunj-5-500x313.jpg 500w, https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/fishnowaste_tribunj-5.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Andrea Ivankovi\u0107 from WWF <\/strong>addressed the problem of abandoned fishing gear (ghost gear) and its devastating impact on marine ecosystems, while<strong> prof. dr. Pero Tutman<\/strong> from the <strong>Institute of oceanography and fisheries<\/strong> in Split highlighted the serious environmental issue of the omnipresence of marine litter in the Adriatic.
