The World Mark of Earth Day began in 1990<\/strong>. Over 200 million people<\/strong> participated in various events this year and today Earth Day is celebrated in more than 190 countries<\/strong> around the world. It is estimated that every year Earth Day is marked by various activities by over one billion people, which means that this event is the largest civil movement in the world.<\/p>\n

EVENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Photo Contest – until 21.04.2015. (Tuesday)<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the occasion of Earth Day, 22 April 2015, the Sunce Association<\/strong> organizes a photo contest “Before and After”<\/strong><\/a> for the duration of 21.04.2015<\/strong>. The aim of the competition is to motivate and start the citizens to clean up the environment, carry out cleaning actions or in any way contribute to a cleaner, neater and environmentally friendly environment by reducing, reusing, recycling, cleaning<\/strong> in accordance to the principle … In order to apply for a contest, people need to photograph the environment as it was before the action and after the action. Two selected photographs are sent to the Sunce Association, after which we publish them on the official Facebook site of the Association. The winner of the competition is the one whose photographs collect the most “likes” until the closing date (21.04.2015). The prize for the winner is a composting home set. Public Event – 22.04.2015. (Wednesday) 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, Riva<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sunce Association<\/strong> in cooperation with Utility Company \u010cisto\u0107a d.o.o<\/strong><\/a>. Split organizes a public event where, awareness raising the importance of environmental care and responsible waste generation as well as treatment through direct presentation of composting, will be promoted as an ideal way for bio-waste management, presentation of posters, flyers and other promotional material on the principles of responsible waste management (reduce, reuse and recycle) and on ways of responsible treatment with different types of waste.<\/p>\n

The award ceremony for schools and students participating in the competition “Before and After-Students for Earth Day 2015” – 23.04.2015. (Thursday) starting at 12:00 h in \u010cisto\u0107a d.o.o. Split, Put Plokita 81.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The competition<\/strong> is being conducted for the fourth year in a row<\/strong>. It is divided into two categories: for students from 1st to 4th<\/strong> grade and students from 5th to 8th<\/strong> grade, with the aim of raising awareness about the issue of waste in the environment and promoting responsible waste management in the principles reduce, reuse and recycle. At the ceremony, prizes will be awarded to all participating schools. The first prizes from both categories are awarded by a Green Trip<\/strong><\/a>, under the auspices of the Sunce Association and for the Second Class Awards is a Green Trip<\/strong> in the area where the awarded school is, also under the educational guidance of the Sunce Association. For teachers with reported projects and interested in the composting theme of \u010cisto\u0107a d.o.o has prepared a composting set<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sale of Used Children’s Clothing, Equipment and Toys – 26.04.2015. (Sunday) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, Riva (opposite the Diocletian basements, next to the bronze building of the city of Split)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Association Sunce in co-operation with the Association of Parents in Action – RODA<\/strong><\/a> organizes a traditional joint action accompanied by the presentation of the work of the Association Sunce and Roda with brochures, educational materials, products and sale of used equipment for children, children’s toys, clothing and footwear with the aim of promoting the principle of responsible behavior waste of reducing and reusing. We invite interested citizens who wish to participate in this sale of used equipment and toys to be announced from 20 April to 24 April 2015<\/strong> at Sunce Phone 021\/360-779<\/strong> at 9-16 o’clock or by e-mail. jaksa.bozanic@sunce-st.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n
