The fifth mural in a row, this time in the Blatine-\u0160krape Elementary School, was painted on an area of 9.5 m\u00b2. It shows the pollution of the marine environment and the endangerment of the marine environment by one of the greatest dangers for aquatic life – waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-day painting of the large mural present a real challenge for students Nina, Ramona, and Iva and five volunteers of the Association for Nature, Environment, and Sustainable Development Sunce, Yuliia<\/a>, Aleksandra<\/a>, Olena<\/a>, Martina, and Lina. The process lasted a total of 13 hours, and the participants were schoolgirls who attended workshops on the topic of sea pollution, which they chose themselves, before painting. Another student contributed to the painting because, she says, she genuinely likes to draw and paint, so she joined her classmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Painting a mural on the mezzanine wall next to the stairs was not a problem for them, and that was towards the end of this school year. In fact, they would also come during classes, if of course their grades were concluded and thus give their contribution with a brush.<\/p>\n\n\n

For all students at this school, this large mural will be a daily reminder of the need to protect the sea, marine plants, and animals – which is ultimately important for all of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The passion and engagement of the students showed the strength of young people in promoting sustainability. These schoolgirls are proof sustainability is possible and that everyone can contribute to environmental protection, regardless of age. Their example of courage and passion inspires all of us to recognize the importance of nature conservation and take responsibility for the future of our planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following are responsible for the organization of the workshops, the painting, and the final look of this mural: former foreign volunteers Olena and Yuliia, and Aleksandra, current foreign volunteers of the Sun. Olena created a digital version of the graphic, based on the joint sketches made by the three students participating in this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sunce\u2019s project called Solidarity for Green Dalmatia 2022<\/em> was financed by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps<\/em> program.<\/p>\n\n\n

Ecological paints for the wall of the brand JUB Hrvatska<\/a> were made possible by Ve\u010dernji list<\/a> through their award-winning project Resolution Earth<\/a>.<\/em> It was very important to us that the paint is washable and that it is not harmful to handling and the environment, which is in line with the goal of this project – to emphasize the importance of protecting nature and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art has the power to convey messages, spark dialogue and change the world. I believe that art is a powerful tool that can reach people on an emotional level and inspire them to act. – volunteer Lina said while finishing this mural and preparing for the new and last one in this project, the one in the Commercial and Trade School in Split.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
