Sunce <\/strong>has, within the service Increasing specific knowledge and available information about waste management, the use of single-use plastics and the degree of plastic pollution, and the creation of a legal framework within Nature Park Vransko jezero<\/a><\/em>, up to now organized an education and a beeswax wraps workshop as part of the “Luka i igara<\/a>” Fair and three workshops for employees and stakeholders operating in the area of NP Vransko Lake<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First workshop – GREEN OFFICE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the first workshop, on October 17, 2022 with the employees of Public Institution<\/strong> Nature Park Vransko Lake<\/strong>, we conducted the Green Office<\/a> educational program, an environmentally-responsible business service. The education consisted of two parts. The first part of the education obtained an introduction to green measures divided into several categories, according to ways of saving the Earth: energy, water, waste, procurement, transport. In the second part, through participative and practical work, we encouraged the creation of an action plan for the implementation of selecting environmentally responsible steps. Employees evaluated the current state of their business and identified areas where progress is possible and jointly planned ways to introduce positive changes. The aim of this workshop was to encourage the greening of business, but also to encourage users to think more sustainably about their actions in ordinary life.<\/p>\n\n\n

Second meeting – WASTE MANAGEMENT IN THE AREA OF NP VRANSKO JEZERO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The second workshop\/meeting was organized in Biograd na moru<\/strong> on November 4, 2022, with representatives of the City of Biograd n\/M<\/strong> and the Municipality of Pako\u0161tane<\/strong> and representatives of the municipal companies Bo\u0161ana d.o.o.<\/strong> and Lo\u0161i d.o.o..<\/strong> The aims of this meeting was to get acquainted with the methods of waste management in the area of Nature Park Vransko Lake, define challenges that appear in waste management in the area of Nature Park Vransko Lake<\/strong>, and most importantly prepare some possible solutions and agree on the further steps for resolving challenges in waste management in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n

Third workshop – HOW CAN I ELIMINATE SINGLE-USE PLASTIC FROM BUSINESS?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, November 21, 2022, the third service workshop was held. The workshop was intended for stakeholders who carry out their activities in the area of PP Vransko Lake, and the goal of the workshop was to get information and ideas from stakeholders on how to eliminate single-use plastics from their business.<\/strong> The workshop program began with an informative tour of the educational wooden path in the ornithological reserve where birds were observed, and then continued in Ma\u0161kovi\u0107a Han.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the introductory lecture, the participants were introduced to the SUP Directive, the European directive on the ban on the use of single-use plastic products, and examples of products that can easily be used to replace single-use plastic products.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a significant problem, the plastic waste that comes from agricultural land through channels into Vransko Lake was highlighted. In the interactive part of the workshop, the World Cafe<\/em> method was used, with which we managed to get answers to the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. How would you arrange your business without single-use plastic?
2. Which plastic items can or cannot be replaced?
3. What do they require from the Public Institution, the utility company, and the City\/Municipality to establish a single-use plastic business?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
