The first workshop for stakeholders, as part of the service of designing and implementing an educational program for stakeholders and expert assistance in making Decision on reducing the use of single-use plastics within the significant landscape of the Cetina River Canyon, as part of the project “Significant Landscape Cetina River Canyon Plastic Free Zone”,<\/strong><\/a> was held on 25th of October in Omi\u0161 area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of the workshop<\/strong> was to familiarize the participants with the legislative framework of waste management, the method of waste collection in the area where they operate, and to increase specific knowledge about the SUP directive, the harmfulness of plastics and the possibilities of replacing single-use plastics with more sustainable materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the workshop, we visited the recycling yard of the utility company Peovica d.o.o.<\/strong> where we learned about waste management in the city of Omi\u0161 area and the significant landscape of the Cetina River Canyon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We walked along the educational path of Leopold Mandi\u0107<\/strong>, where, with a view to the canyon and the exercise “Threats to Biodiversity”, we looked for an answer to the question: What could be the source of the problem related to the increasing endangerment to nature and its biodiversity?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continued the theoretical part of the workshop in Ka\u0161til Slanica, where we educated the participants about the harmfulness of plastic, how can we replace it and introduced them to the SUP directive, i.e. its legislative framework, the reasons for its adoption and what it means for the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also introduced them with the Decision on reducing the use of single-use plastics in the Cetina River Canyon area<\/strong>, which PI More i Kr\u0161 plans to pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next workshop will be organized on November 14th at 9:30 a.m.<\/strong> and will focus on the Decision on reducing the use of single-use plastics<\/em> in the Cetina River Canyon area. We invite all stakeholders who operate in the Cetina River Canyon area to join the workshop and participate in the creation of the Decision with their ideas.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
