Making a compost site for Masla\u010dak, Trogir kindergarten<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, October 10, 2022, as part of the third workshop of the educational program Responsible waste generation and handling<\/em>, we\u2019ve met with the teachers of DV Masla\u010dak, Trogir,<\/strong><\/a> for the purpose of making a composting site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshop theoretical part<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The workshop started with a short theoretical part to introduce the participants to the topic of responsible biowaste collection. We have tackled the question: What can be thrown into the compost pile? What should not be added in the compost? Which maintenance tools do we need? How can we involve children? Workshop practical part<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After the theoretical, we started the practical part. The first step was the cleaning of the area planned for the creation of the compost site, preparation of dry material, soil and biowaste. After assembling the wooden frame, we stacked the compost pile. At the bottom, we\u2019ve put larger branches for drainage, and on top of them we placed layers of biowaste, soil and dry material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until the custodian prepares a cover for the compost site, we used several large tree branches to protect the compost site from external influences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that we have passed on our knowledge about composting to the preschool teachers, the plan is to involve children in the maintenance of the composting site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the Education of educators and children on the topic of ecological and sustainable development service<\/strong><\/a>, Sunce will conduct a total of ten modules of the educational program Responsible waste generation and handling <\/em>and five educational workshops for children on the topics of nature and environmental protection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
