Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development Sunce<\/strong> and the Municipality of Sali<\/strong> on the island of Dugi Otok<\/strong> at September 20. and 21. held a two-day workshop funded by Beyond Med Association<\/strong>. Workshop was held at Dugi Otok as a part of the project For Plastic Free Croatian Islands<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives of the Municipality, public enterprise and companies participated in the workshop held on the premises of the Municipality of Sali<\/strong>. Project manager Tea Kuzmi\u010di\u0107-Rosandi\u0107<\/strong> in cooperation with an external collaborator of the project Marijan Galovi\u0107<\/strong>, presented the Action Plan for the Reduction of Plastic Pollution for the period 2021-2026<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n

On the second day of the workshop, project associate of the Association Sunce, Blanka Rakulji\u0107<\/strong> presented the Decision on reducing the use of single use plastics for the Municipality of Sali and Institutions and Companies in (co) ownership of the Municipality<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together we agreed on the details and implementation of the Action Plan and the Decision. Mayor Zoran Morovi\u0107<\/strong> sees this Action Plan and Decision as a continuation of all previous efforts made by the Municipality of Sali to reduce the amount of the waste and enviromental protection. The Action Plan and Decision will be submitted for adoption on the municipal council which is scheduled for next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was attended by representatives of the Municipality of Sali<\/strong>, Public Institution Nature Park Tela\u0161\u0107ica<\/em><\/strong>, Tourist Board of the Municipality of Sali<\/strong>, Kindergarten Orkulice<\/em><\/strong>, Communal Society Dugi Otok and Zverinac<\/strong>, as well as representatives of the Association Sunce Split<\/strong> and Zelena Akcija <\/strong>(Friends of the Earth Croatia).<\/p>\n\n\n

Also, as part of this project we will organise an event without single use plastic products as well as public forum in order to implement Action plan and Decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Analysis which is the base of the Action plan, and Action plan itself, were created by Marijan Galovi\u0107<\/strong> from Galovi\u0107 Consulting j.d.o.o.<\/strong> in collaboration with Sunce Split Association and the Municipality of Sali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project For Plastic-Free Croatian Islands <\/em>will continue until the end of September 2022, and in that period activities are planned in order to increase knowledge and availability of information about waste management system, use of single use plastic and the level of plastic pollution in two local island communities: Municipality of Sali on the island of Dugi Otok and Stari Grad on the island of Hvar.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n
