On Friday, March 19th, Association Sunce Split <\/strong>organized the first of a set of five workshops for students and teachers of three partner high schools: High School Bra\u0107a Radi\u0107, Gymnasium of Sustainable Development and Craft Technical School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshops are part of the project “Sustainable Student Companies in Croatian High Schools \u2013 Green Companies Promote Sustainable Entrepreneurial Thinking and Action of Young People in Croatia”<\/span> which Sunce implements in cooperation with German partners Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Umwelterziehung,. The project is funded by the German environmental foundation The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the workshops is to help students develop a business idea which, in partnership with each other, they will successfully implement within (for two schools of newly formed) student cooperatives. The workshops were held under the expert guidance of mentors from Cidrani, Nika and Bruno<\/strong> \u2013 the team behind the new Croatian concept of healthy living. Through various participatory methods, 17 students and teachers reflected on personal motives, qualities and directions in which they want to develop in order to eventually reach a unique, common product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the entire process of developing the business model, students had, and will have, help of three students of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (University of Split)<\/strong> as part of the practice of service-learning and “Social innovators” project<\/a><\/strong>. Service-learning as a principle of learning is not a novelty to the Association Sunce, considering that its models have been applied in cooperation with the University of Split since 2015. The workshop itself was held in the newly opened incubator Spinit<\/strong> \u2013 a place where students from Split have the opportunity to develop and test their business idea under the mentorship of a professor. The incubator has more than 2500 square meters which include 26 modular offices, coworking space, three offices for entrepreneurial support institutions, accelerator program office, hardware laboratory, nine meeting rooms, four kitchens, five social rooms, recreation space and three conference halls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
