Its mission is to ensure the resilience of marine ecosystems to climate change and human-induced threats such as overfishing and <a href=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/en\/activities\/waste-from-the-sea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">plastic pollution<\/a>. To prevent further biodiversity loss, it is crucial to restore marine ecosystems and establish effective <a href=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/en\/activities\/protected-areas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">marine protected areas<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The network brings together 33 organizations from 15 European countries and has been advocating for <a href=\"https:\/\/sunce-st.org\/en\/activities\/sea-protection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sea protection<\/a> at the European and international level for more than 30 years.
