We held workshop “Finding business ideas and developing business models”
On Thursday, May 6, The Association Sunce Split organized the second of five workshops for students and teachers of three partner high schools: High School Braća Radić, Gymnasium of Sustainable Development and Vocational-Technical School.
The workshops are part of the project “Sustainable Student Companies in Croatian High Schools – Green Companies Promote Sustainable Entrepreneurial Thinking and Action of Young People in Croatia” in cooperation with German partners Deutsche Gesellschaft für Umwelterziehung. The project is funded by the German environmental foundation The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt.
The aim of the workshops is to help students develop a business idea which, in partnership with each other, they will successfully implement within (for two schools of newly formed) student cooperatives.
The workshop was held live with the online participation of project partners: mentors from mentors from Cidrani, Nika and Bruno and Blanka Horvat from The Croatian Association of Student Cooperatives. A total of 23 participants (16 live, 7 via the Zoom platform) worked in small teams to find business ideas and develop business models. In addition to the presentations of students (Sustainable business canvas, Marketing) and students (Using social networks), Jasminka Turina Luketić, the leader of the Student Cooperative “Klečka čarolija”, which operates as part of the Bernardin Frankopan Gymnasium and Vocational School in Ogulin, joined us at the workshop with presentation “Product marketing of student cooperatives – the key to the success of student cooperatives”.
In the whole process of business model development, students and teachers had, and will have, the help and support of two female students of the Faculty of Economics and one student of the Faculty of Philosophy in Split as part of the practice of socially useful learning and “Social innovators” project. Socially useful learning as a principle of learning is not a novelty to The Association Sunce Split, considering that models have been applied in cooperation with the University of Split since 2015.
The workshop itself was held in the newly opened incubator Spinit – a place where students from Split have the opportunity to develop and test their business idea under the mentorship of a professor.
