A workshop for the development of a national campaign within project “For Plastic Free Croatian Islands”

The Association Sunce and Friends of the Earth Croatia (Zelena akcija) as part of the joint project “For plastic free Croatian Islands” last week (April 20th and 21st) held a two-day workshop on public advocacy related to solving the problem of single use plastic pollution.

The two-day workshop provided an opportunity to network, strengthen capacity and design a national campaign as part of the “For plastic free Croatian Islands” project. The workshop was attended by representatives of organizations that make the informal platform for battling with single use plastic pollution:  Friends of the Earth Croatia (Zelena akcija), Association Sunce Split, Greenpeace Croatia, WWF Adria, Tatavaka Association, Terra Hub Croatia, Green Energy Cooperative and La Revolution Albatross. In addition to representatives of organizations, the workshop was attended by representatives of the associations Green Istria and Eco Zadar and representatives of project partners – the City of Stari Grad (Island Hvar) and the Municipality of Sali (Dugi otok).

The workshop was held under the guidance of professional facilitators. The aim of this workshop was to get to know each other and present the results of previous project activities, as well as the progress in the fight against single use plastics. In addition to the topic of single use plastics and waste management, we have strengthened our current knowledge of public advocacy and planned a national campaign and a communication strategy, so that the campaign has the widest possible scope.
