Upon the arrival of Stefan Markovski, another EVS volunteer from Macedonia, in January of this year, his desire for a healthy diet, which is closely related to environmental protection, was immediately recognized. As part of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, the European Voluntary Service enabled our Stefan to improve his environmental behavior in one year, as well as to make others aware of the same.
Thus, in the period up to now, Stefan has participated in educational workshops in partner institutions as part of the project “VOLUNTEER FOR NATURE, VOLUNTEER FOR YOURSELF”, where he was educated about the concept of volunteering, Croatian parks, and communication and social skills.
On the occasion of Earth Day in Split, which was celebrated by the Association Sunce, Stefan participated at one of the thematic stands – “Reduce the amount of waste” and presented his own prepared healthy desserts.
He also presented his knowledge and skill of preparing healthy desserts at a special public forum on home composting, but also in Đardin on the occasion of the 22nd Day of Volunteer Work where, in addition, he presented the activities of the Association Sunce to interested citizens.
He was invited to the Radio Sunce studio, where there was a live discussion about healthy food and ways to create as little kitchen waste as possible. On the occasion of marking the European Week of Sustainable Development in Makarska, he led an eco-educational game for the youngest.
He presented his experience in making healthy fruit smoothies at composting workshops in two Elementary schools in Split, and he gave a short presentation on proper waste management at Kula Norinska Elementary School in Metković.
So far, Stefan’s impact on the Split community has been successful, and by the end of his volunteer service, our colleague Stefan will have acquired more knowledge that, we hope, he will pass on with equal success.
