Stand-up comedians from the SpliCka scena entertained the gathered employees, members and partners of Sunce and covered topics on 4 different Sunce’s projects.

At Mandrill’s brewery & PUB, on June 2, 2022, Sunce organized a SpliCka scena stand-up event called “Today we will laugh, tomorrow we will cry” as part of the project For plastic free Croatian Islands, which is financed by the Beyond Med Foundation.

In addition to their classic topics, such as male-female and family relations, the animal world and everyday life situations, they gave their comedic input on 4 different Sunce’s projects.

Seagrass preservation and restoration

The evening was opened by Josip Škiljo, who made us laugh by using the theme of the SASPAS project. The project aims to improve seagrass preservation and restoration through laying safe anchorage innovative systems, performing pilot transplantations, carrying out monitoring activities and by defining an integrated management system for seagrasses in Adriatic area.

The conservation of seabird species

Ante Travizi commented on the Life Artina project, which was designed to contribute to solving the main problems in the conservation of three seabird species in the central part of the Adriatic: the Mediterranean gull, kaukal and gregula. The LIFE Program turned 30 years old on May 21, 2022, so we celebrated this anniversary with this event too.

Reducing the use of single-use plastic

Tomislav Primorac tackled marine litter problems trough the project For plastic free Croatian Islands. In the municipality of Sali on Dugi otok and Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, the project aims to reduce the use of single-use plastic, as well as plastic pollution in the Adriatic and Mediterranean seas.

The harmful effects of infilling on marine ecosystems

The evening was closed by Ivica Lazaneo with an excellent review of the online campaign “Stop beach infilling”, which informs the public about the harmful effects of infilling on marine ecosystems, which is carried out as part of the SEAS project, which offers solutions to reconcile development and environmental protection.

We are glad that through this cooperation we managed to get a different view on these topics, which will help us in our further approach to the public.

The Splicka scena team has gotten us used to quality comedy, so we will hang out with them again at the cleaning action in Lastovo – Eko Life Lastovo.

Namely, as part of the Life Artina project, the Sunce and Public Institution Nature Park Lastovo Islands are organizing an clean-up action on Kremena beach, on the island of Lastovo, on June 14, 2022.

For Sunce members, the costs of travel, accommodation and meals on Lastovo are covered, but all places are filled. However, after the Eko Life Lastovo action, you can join us at the Splicka scena performance at Caffe bar Kokolo (Pasadur) at 8:30 p.m.
